There connection speeds are fine. They handle connections up to 56K modems. If you don't like 56K modems then Freei is not the free ISP for you try FreeDSL however their Internet connection works quite well. You bearly get disconnected or busy signals. Freei was the first free ISP. When it was first launched it became very popular and many people were using it. By know Freei is still pretty good and growing very nicely. They have started doing TV commercials based on the popular game show "Who Wants To Be A Millionare?" on ABC they have also done most of their commericials during the show since it gets many viewers a day. Since they started advertising they have lately recieved 80,000 members in one day.

Freei requires you to download an ad bar. You can undock or float the ad bar. They have access numbers in all 50 states, and very many cities. Freei offers a POP3 e-mail account at yourname@freei.net. They have a News Server but that doesen't work to well.

If you want to use Freei you must download Internet Explorer 5 which is 70MB. They allow you to order a free CD-ROM so you don't have to torture yourself downloading such big software. If you have Internet Explorer 5 then you only need to download 10MB. The features of their ad bar are quite neat. They let you go back banners as well is forward.

This is the greatest part about Freei. Its like AOL only free. It offers Instant Messanging, a buddy list, POP3 e-mail and chat. So it pretty covers everything AOL has.

Freei is a very nice ISP so if you like AOL then you will probably also like Freei!
